Tropical Storm Helene

Camden County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) is carefully monitoring Tropical Storm Helene for impacts on Camden County.

Camden County is under a:

  • Tropical Storm Watch, meaning tropical storm conditions (sustained winds of 39 to 73 mph) are possible within the specified area within 48 hours.
  • Flood Watch, meaning conditions are favorable for flooding. It does not mean flooding will occur, but it is possible.

Precautionary Measures: Residents are urged to take immediate steps to prepare for tropical activity and rapidly changing conditions. Secure outdoor items, stock up on essential supplies, and ensure you have a plan in place.

Sandbags

Sand is available at four different self-service site throughout Camden County. Some of these sites also have a limited number of sandbags available. Please click on the map to open a larger version.

Camden County

Camden County will have sand and a limited number of sandbags available for self-service at the Facilities Maintenance Building located at 1144 Godley Avenue in Woodbine. Residents should bring their own shovels.

Kingsland

The City of Kingsland will have sand and a limited number of sandbags available at 132 Royal Parkway in Kingsland on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Residents should bring shovels for this self-service site.

St. Marys

The City of St. Marys will have sand and sandbags available for self-service at the Public Works Facility located at 819 Point Peter Road in St. Marys. This site is open from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, and from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2024.

Woodbine

The City of Woodbine will have sand and a limited number of sandbags available at the Public Works Department located at 1714 Bedell Avenue in Woodbine.
