BGMC/GVI August 2024 Employee of the Month: Anne Sammarco

Congratulations to Anne Sammarco, physical therapist, who was named the Buffalo General Medical Center/Gates Vascular Institute (BGMC/GVI) Employee of the Month for August 2024.

Anne was nominated by a co-worker, who mentioned that "Anne goes above and beyond daily with her work on the medical rehabilitation unit. She provides excellent care to her patients and aways strives to help her coworkers."

Recently, Anne organized a multi-disciplinary activity for the patients on the Medical Rehab Unit (MRU). She rounded up an occupational therapist, physical therapist and speech pathologist to bring the patients to the courtyard and took advantage of the nice weather. The patients incorporated gardening and fun games as a therapeutic activity. Prior to the day, she got the therapy staff involved to plan the activities and gather the needed gardening tools.

Anne's coworkers are very eager to report that she is dedicated, committed, and respectful to her patients and fellow colleagues. She is very kind, knowledgeable, and consistently volunteers to help out with initiatives to improve care on the MRU.
