Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Flexam Invest (Flexam) in relation to the financing of an offshore wind self-elevating vessel for Atheleon, part of the Harren Group.
Flexam was the intermediate lessor in the back-to-back sale and leaseback transaction, with further financing provided by the Eurazeo Sustainable Maritime Infrastructure thematic fund (ESMI), which is dedicated to sustainable development in the maritime sector.
The Norton Rose Fulbright team advising on the cross-jurisdictional deal was led by London-based partner Andrew Williams, with support from senior associates Nicholas Papadopolous and Llian Williams. Further assistance was provided by counsel Mei Land Man and associate Miaad Hamidy in Amsterdam, and partner Timo Noftz and associate Marvin Nimoh in Hamburg.
This latest transaction in the offshore wind sector comes after Norton Rose Fulbright recently advised Société Générale as Mandated Lead Arranger and Agent, along with a syndicate of banks, in relation to two Green Loan Facilities for Cadeler A/S - totalling approximately €520 million - for the financing of two state-of-the-art newbuild Wind Turbine Installation Vessels under construction in the Republic of Korea.
