Winning with Wisconsin's Workforce Event Series to Highlight Artificial Intelligence

MADISON - Incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) into workforce training to boost productivity will be at the forefront as the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) continues its "Winning with Wisconsin's Workforce" event series.

These events will showcase innovative AI initiatives, available funding, resources to support businesses, and practical applications of AI across various sectors. The forums are free and open to employers, educators, community leaders, nonprofit service providers, and others interested in workforce development and AI.

"The focus on AI for these upcoming Winning with Wisconsin's Workforce events offers businesses an opportunity to connect with statewide and local resources, find ways to innovate, and grow with this technology," DWD Secretary Amy Pechacek said. "With months of record-breaking employment and jobs numbers in Wisconsin, AI can help workers in the state meet business demands and drive economic success."

The upcoming "Winning with Wisconsin's Workforce" forums will run from Aug. 8 to Sept. 30, 2024, and build on events hosted earlier this year. Featured speakers will include leaders of the local workforce development boards, DWD officials, top local employers, and local workforce resource experts. Events will also introduce attendees to local integrated business service teams that work with employers to find solutions for recruiting qualified workers, retaining well-trained employees, accessing workforce planning resources, and building staff diversity through a broad pool of skilled job candidates.

The second round of events will take place in the following communities:

• Fox Valley Region: Aug. 8, Oshkosh.
• South Central Region: Sept. 10, Madison.
• Southeast Region: Sept. 13, Sturtevant.
• WOW Region: Sept. 17, Waukesha.
• Western Region: Sept. 17, Onalaska.
• West Central Region: Sept. 30, Eau Claire.

Among other topics, these events will highlight the work of the Governor's Task Force on Workforce and Artificial Intelligence. Governor Tony Evers issued the Task Force's Advisory Action Plan earlier this week.
