Meeting with the Deputy Secretary-General of the SCO

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Bobur Usmanov met with the Deputy Secretary General of the SCO Nurlan Yermekbayev, who is visiting Tashkent as the head of the SCO Mission to observe the preparation and holding of elections to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and local Kengashes.

N.Yermekbayev noted that the SCO countries are closely watching the active processes of large-scale reforms in the country and the construction of the "New Uzbekistan".

The parties discussed the issues of further strengthening productive cooperation within the SCO and the practical implementation of the initiatives of the Republic of Uzbekistan put forward during the Astana summit.

The growing economic importance of the organization, the importance of developing effective mechanisms for strengthening ties between member states and the full implementation of the existing enormous potential were noted.
