Six SIUE women's soccer players have been honored for their work on the field and in the classroom.
Taylor Babb, Calli Chiarelli, Savannah DeFini, Matea Diekema, Grace Ferguson and Mary Fetter have been named to the 2024 Academic All-District® Women's Soccer Teams as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC). The CSC recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
The criteria for earning this award included playing 90 percent of team's contests or 66 percent of games started as well as earning a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average.
SIUE's honorees majors and GPAs are: Babb (Nursing/3.781), Chiarelli (Exercise Science/4.0), DeFini (Business Management/3.793), Diekema (Master of Business Administration/4.00), Ferguson (Accountancy/3.740), and Fetter (Business Marketing/3.854).
Academic All-District® honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.
