8/12/24 Motor Vehicle Accident
(Peoria, IL) Sunday, August 11, 2024, at approximately 12:52 a.m. Peoria Police and Peoria Firefighters responded to the 1200 block of N. Ellis Street on a report of a traffic accident.
When officers and emergency crews arrived, they located two vehicles that crashed into each other. Both vehicles sustained significant damage.
An adult male passenger in one of the vehicles was partially ejected and entrapped inside the vehicle.
PFD personnel began immediate medical care and extrication of the adult male (23 years old) using the "Jaws of Life". The victim was then transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Additional occupants of both vehicles were also transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
This accident is currently under investigation.
