What’s New on the Workiva Platform

The Workiva platform is built to expand and adapt, you can easily increase your productivity, confidence, and decision-making power. Embrace secure resiliency in the face of oncoming demands, elevated expectations, and a rapidly changing macro and regulatory landscape so that you and your organization can be ready for anything. Our most recent batch of innovations has been created to do one of three things: connect data, unify processes, and empower teams.

Get the scoop on our latest innovations:.

Connect data

Workiva Carbon

Workiva Carbon centralizes your carbon accounting, carbon management, and decarbonization program. Collect and track scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions and operational data across locations and your supply chain. Calculate your carbon footprint. Set science-based targets. Simplify climate disclosures, all integrated into the most comprehensive sustainability management platform on the market.

Shareable Data Library

Workiva users can share fully curated data sets to users, groups, and entire workspaces (for example, sharing all data points in a 10-K with a sustainability team). Shared data is readily available for use in a collected library, and also maintains a full audit trail. Advancing last year's smart links announcement, Workiva is excited to expand data sharing from a peer-to-peer basis to a platform approach.

Workiva Tasks

Skip the clunky, complicated spreadsheet submissions and messy manual data collection with a clean, easy-to-use task experience for fulfilling data requests like ESG metrics or control updates-including evidence attachments and multi-step approvals. Data providers from across the company can easily provide their data and documentation and get back to their actual jobs.

Unify processes

Dynamic Table Management

Workiva is making tabular data easier to manage and control with several new features that can save massive amounts of time and manual work every reporting cycle, especially in fund reporting, multi-entity reporting, and other repetitive reporting scenarios. This includes range linking, the ability to link entire tables that will automatically update with changes at the source, including when new columns or rows are added, enhanced table filters, which will allow users to hide rows based on certain criteria through formulas (ex. hiding rows that do not meet 5% materiality thresholds), and value format styles-the ability to create and lock down styles and create consistency across large volumes of data classes.

Designed Reporting enhancements

New design tools give more control to designers working within the Workiva platform, reducing the need to leave the platform and risk data integrity. Design sections enable report designers to be creative while collaborating at the same time as content authors: lock objects in place, restrict objects from resizing, create text overflow sections, work with new column layouts, rotate objects, and more. A new blackline view also shows changes without disrupting design.

Risks and Controls List and Visualizations

Centralize your risks and controls in a single place that is both actionable and analytical. You can search, sort, and filter thousands of risks and controls in seconds, and make edits individually or in bulk (ex. changing control owners). Visualizations also help you identify risk-related insights in aggregate-determine gaps in coverage, status updates, and more.

Empower teams

Workiva Generative AI updates

Workiva Gen AI now includes a persona-based prompt library, with pre-built prompts to help users get faster starts on common projects like analyzing audit results or crafting specific ESG disclosures. Users can also ask questions about and research their own Workiva platform content, such as analyzing differences between two files, summarizing content of dense documents, and matching tone between multiple reports. Plus, Workiva support documentation is also accessible via the AI chat assistant. And with the new support knowledge base, you can ask the gen AI assistant targeted questions about the Workiva platform to get tailored answers and step-by-step help with source citations for further reference.

Reimagined Workiva Mobile app

We have launched a reimagined mobile app, now available on both Android and iOS devices. Workiva platform users can preview their work with a new "for you" screen, where they can view files, star files, update permissions, read comments, and more. We're also enabling easier and faster mobile executive reviews to match pace with your reporting cycles. In addition to the full PDF view, reviewers can use the quick viewer function to add comments on specific text within the document-ideal for executives who are always on the go but not always on their laptop.

Intelligent Work

We've created a more personalized and intuitive experience that enables customers to find their data, understand their work, and take action faster with new features like intelligent search and tailored home.

With intelligent search, you can search for content anywhere within the Workiva platform that goes beyond filename limitations of previous search. Intelligent search will look for matching search terms inside files, including document text, spreadsheet cells, slides, and other Workiva platform content.

Tailored home allows workspace owners can configure home boards with a variety of widgets and layout options and assign them to different user groups, based on solution and persona. For example, GRC users can see control assessment and testing statuses, while sustainability teams can track their ESG Program topics and newsfeed.

Controls Management Essentials

As companies grow, they are often integrating more non-financial data into their reporting or preparing to comply with new regulations, which all requires a new level of governance they may not have had. Controls Management Essentials is a comprehensive suite of tools for teams who want to take ownership of their governance across financial and non-financial reporting. It provides a centralized view for controllers and control owners, integrated flowcharting capabilities, process documentation, control self-assessments, certifications, and executive-level reporting. Together, these tools alleviate audit fatigue and streamline governance processes, critical for companies facing new compliance requirements or preparing to go public.
