Visitors can explore airplane cockpits, watch a robotics demonstration, and root for competitors dropping pumpkins from planes in the air at tomorrow's open house at St. Charles County Regional Airport-Smartt Field.
Displays are open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26.
Starting at 10 a.m., small aircraft will begin bombing runs in the annual Pumpkin Drop, where passengers attempt to hit a junk car with a pumpkin from the inside of a moving plane.
The highlight of the event is at noon, when World War II B-25 and TBM bombers will take flight, performing low-altitude maneuvers and "carpet bombing" the car targets with a full payload of pumpkins.
