PVAMU researcher among top global scholars in engineering, environmental science

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (Nov. 20, 2024) - Dr. Ali Fares, an endowed professor of water security at Prairie View A&M University, is ranked among the top global scholars in engineering and environmental science, according to ScholarGPS, an analytics site that tracks and ranks researchers and institutions worldwide.

Based on ScholarGPS metrics, Fares ranks among the top 1.62% of 28.93 million research scholars across all disciplines. Within the field of engineering and computer science, Fares is among the top 1.75% of 4.1 million researchers, and within the discipline of civil and environmental engineering, he is in the top 1.48% of 382,902 scholars. Notably, he has been recognized in the specialized areas of irrigation, hydrology, and climate change, ranking in the top 1.29%, 3.29%, and 5.4%, respectively.
