Alpha Sigma Tau Chapter at Oakland University honored with two national awards

Alpha Sigma Tau's Delta Tau Chapter at Oakland University was recently recognized by the National Organization for demonstrating excellence within the 2022-2024 biennium. Awards were announced at Alpha Sigma Tau's 45th National Convention, which was held June 20-23 in Portsmouth/Norfolk, Va.

The Delta Tau Chapter was recognized with the Chapter Branding: Marketing & Communications Award and the Elizabeth Wilson Operational Excellence Award.

The Chapter Branding: Marketing & Communications Award is presented to chapters exhibiting the best use of social media, website content, and additional marketing mediums to promote their chapter and the Sorority experience. The Elizabeth Wilson Operational Excellence Award is presented to chapters demonstrating a commitment to chapter management and outstanding operational performance.

Additionally, Delta Tau Chapter alumna Katie VanGorder won the Lois Schweikart O'Dell Anchor Award, which honors an outstanding alumna who has been dedicated and given faithful service to her alumnae chapter for a minimum of five years.

Chapter President Carlina Galli and Vice President of Community Relations Evelyn Shelton were present to accept the award. Chapter Advisor Lisa-Marie Cox Fredericks was also in attendance.

"The Alpha Sigma Tau National Council congratulates the Delta Tau Chapter for their outstanding hard work, perseverance, and commitment to the Sorority and their community," said Justina Solties, director of communications and engagement for Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority.

Today, the chapter continues to provide women at Oakland University with a community of belonging, personal and professional development opportunities, and an outlet to contribute to the local Rochester community.
