OLLU President Abel Antonio Chávez, MBA, PhD, has launched a new podcast, "Charla con Chávez." With episodes dropping every Friday, the podcast shares the incredible stories of OLLU students - their journeys, challenges and lasting memories. Each week, President Chávez will take listeners on an intimate journey, exploring themes of personal growth, academic success, and the profound ways students are shaping the community. With its engaging storytelling and deep sense of community, the podcast reflects the mission of OLLU to foster leadership and empower students to make meaningful contributions.
For the first episode of "Charla con Chávez" the guest is OLLU student Nemesis Crociata. Raised in Toledo, Ohio, Nemesis is a first-generation college student who has discovered a passion for helping others through OLLU's Social Work program. A McNair Scholar, she has balanced numerous jobs over the years to fund her education. In 2025, she will graduate with a degree in Social Work and Sociology, with plans to pursue a master's, a Ph.D. in Global Wealth and Equality, and a career in research and teaching to support underserved communities.
'''Charla con Chávez' is more than just a podcast," said President Chávez, "it's a celebration of resilience, diversity, the power of perseverance, and the promise of a better future."
