State Police arrest two following Queensbury traffic stop

On August 28, 2024, State Police of Queensbury arrested Robert J. Miller, 22, of Argyle, NY, For Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the second degree and four counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree.

Joseph R. Yarter, 27, of Glens Falls, NY, was also arrested for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the fourth degree, four counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree, and Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.

On August 28, 2024, at about 11:06 p.m., Troopers stopped a vehicle being driven by Yarter in the area of Main Street in Queensbury, NY, for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. Yarter did not not possess a valid driver's license. The passenger in the vehicle was identified as Miller. Further investigation discovered numerous controlled substances and other drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. Also located in the vehicle was an illegally possessed loaded handgun allegedly belonging to Miller, and illegal metal knuckles allegedly belonging to Yarter. Following the discoveries, all items were seized, and both were taken into custody.

Yarter and Miller were both transported to SP Queensbury for processing. Yarter was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Queensbury Town Court on September 16, 2024, and released. Miller was arraigned at the Warren County Centralized Arraignment Part Court and remanded to the Warren County correctional facility in lieu of $1,000 cash, a $2,000 bond, or a $4,000 partially secured bond.
