Carter, a health care professional, calls for President Biden to submit to cognitive test

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Rep. Earl L. "Buddy" Carter (R-GA) today sent a letter to White House Chief of Staff Jeff Zients calling for President Biden to submit to a cognitive test following his sharp decline in public trust after credible reports surfaced suggesting that Biden is not mentally fit to uphold the duties of the office of the President.

This letter comes after the Wall Street Journal published a report detailing the President's declining mental acuity, citing interviews with both Republicans and Democrats privy to closed-door conversations.

In the letter, Carter writes, "As a consultant pharmacist for several decades, I have treated patients in nursing homes and recognize the signs of cognitive decline. The patients I treated slowly experienced mental decline and forgetfulness…[T]he same behaviors that the American public and congressional lawmakers have witnessed from the President of the United States."

Carter continues
, "Americans are rightly concerned that the President's fragile mental state is creating a leadership vacuum in a position that demands utmost competence…I encourage the President to perform a cognitive test immediately…then publish the test results, so the American people know the full mental and intellectual health of their President. The American people can no longer be left to wonder about their safety and security because of the President's deteriorating mental state."
