Turf Replacement Rebate Increased

Customers may now be eligible for up to $3 per square foot of turf replaced with water-efficient landscaping.

Colorful, lush water wise plants are not just in fashion, they can also decrease your landscape's water use. As temperatures rise, it takes more and more water to keep grass looking healthy. The Turf Replacement Program encourages customers to remove their turf and chose plants that naturally need less water.

Don't want a cactus garden? That's ok! There are dozens of colorful bushes, trees, grasses and flowers adapted to hot and dry climates like ours. These plants use less water while still giving you a full, green garden.

Additional funding from the County of San Diego is available and can make rebates for unincorporated San Diego County residents as high as $4 per square foot.

Funding for this higher-than-normal rebate is limited, and customers are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Be sure to apply prior to removing existing turf.
