See How Target and Big Brothers Big Sisters Are Empowering Communities — Big and Little
At Target, we believe that mentorship has the power to shape brighter futures and build stronger communities. That's why we're excited to announce our new partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBS), launched at their national conference in June. This collaboration reflects our ongoing commitment to fostering more connected communities by empowering youth through meaningful mentorship and support.
'It takes little to be big'
Big Brothers Big Sisters of America pairs adult volunteers, known as "Bigs," with kids, known as "Littles," to form mentoring relationships that help guide and support them as they navigate life's challenges. Right now, more than 30,000 kids are waiting for a Big Brother or Big Sister - some for up to two years. To help close this gap, Target is supporting BBBS's alumni engagement efforts, focusing on recruiting former Littles as mentors. We're also funding back-to-school activations in 20 communities, ensuring our support makes a difference throughout the year.

Littles enjoy a fun-filled shopping trip with their Bigs at Target during our back-to-school event. This is just one example of the impact we're making in 20 communities across the country, helping kids gear up for the school year with everything they need.

Rooted in action, this partnership empowers Target teams across the country to collaborate with local BBBS agencies, creating memorable back-to-school experiences for Bigs and Littles. In cities like Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas and Miami, our teams are making a real impact by providing $100 gift cards at Target stores, ensuring Littles have what they need for the school year ahead and reinforcing our commitment to strengthen our communities.
