While the threats facing nature across Canada are very real, so is the fact that we can all make a difference - at home and online, through art and events, with our actions, voices and donations.
Here are six fun and easy ways you can do some good for the planet this summer.
1. Raise your voice for quiet oceans
2. Visit WWF's immersive experience
Journey through Canada's vast southern landscapes and remarkable Arctic at WWF-Canada's stunning "Regenerate Canada" exhibit at Arcadia Earth Toronto. One of ten multi-sensory rooms that combine creative art installations and cutting-edge technology, this interactive experience will leave you inspired with the knowledge that we can arrive at a brighter future where wildlife, nature and people are thriving. Plus, $2 from every ticket is donated to WWF-Canada. Kids bored? They'll enjoy trying to outrun "the line" as it sweeps across the room or jumping on the icons that appear on the floor.
3. Become a monthly donor
"If not us, and if not now, then who and when?" - George Stroumboulopoulos, WWF-Canada supporter and media personalityBy joining WWF-Canada as a monthly donor, you can help us meet the ambitious goals of our 10-year plan to Regenerate Canada and set our planet on a course for recovery.
4. Grow a habitat for wildlife
Help restore habitat for wildlife by growing native plants and trees in your yard, balcony or community spaces. Our re:grow program will guide you every step of the way, from selecting the right plants and preparing the soil to celebrating your first flowers and wildlife visitors. If you already got your hands dirty this spring, consider putting your plants on our re:grow map - that way we can track our collective impact for nature and climate.
5. Sign up for a 5K, half-marathon or marathon
Lace up and spend some time training outdoors for the great outdoors when you take on the TSC Toronto Waterfront Marathon. You can run the 5K in person on October 19 or the Half-Marathon or Full Marathon in person on October 20.Or take part virtually from anywhere in Canada from October 1-31. Select WWF-Canada as your organization and every dollar you raise and every step you take will be a step forward for wildlife and against climate change.
