Grady Nursing Residency Program Earns Accreditation for Excellence

Grady Health System has earned the prestigious Practice Transition Accreditation Program (PTAP) designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Grady was awarded accreditation with distinction, the highest recognition awarded by the ANCC's accreditation program. This achievement recognizes the health system's commitment to excellence in nursing practice transition and its dedication to fostering a supportive environment for newly licensed registered nurses.

The ANCC's PTAP designation is awarded to organizations that demonstrate a comprehensive, structured approach to onboarding and supporting nurses during their transition from education to professional practice. This includes robust mentorship, evidence-based practices, and a commitment to improving the quality of care through nurse development programs.

"Our clinical education and nursing leadership teams have worked tirelessly to create an environment where nurses can thrive as they transition into their new roles," said Michelle Wallace, DNP, RN, TCRN, NEA-BC, FACHE, chief nursing officer at Grady. "This accreditation validates our commitment to supporting our nurses and ensuring they have the resources, education, and mentorship they need to deliver the highest quality care to our patients."

The PTAP designation signifies that Grady has met the ANCC's rigorous standards for nurse residency and transition-to-practice programs. It demonstrates the system's focus on professional development and its ability to attract, retain, and foster the growth of top-tier nursing talent.

This accreditation enhances Grady's reputation as a leader in healthcare, showcasing its dedication to the continuous improvement of nursing practice and the professional journey of its nurses.
