Pinal County to Resume Issuance of Open Burn Permits Beginning September 30, 2024 with the effective date of October 1, 2024

Starting Monday, September 30, 2024, Pinal County Air Quality will resume issuing open burning permits throughout the County. The effective start date of the permit will be October 1, 2024. Exceptions to this date include areas covered by the following fire districts:

  • - Oracle Fire District - Permit effective date of October 7, 2024
  • - Coolidge Fire District - Permit effective date of November 1, 2024
  • - Queen Valley Fire District - Permit effective date of November 1, 2024
  • - Superstition Fire & Medical District - Permit effective date of November 1, 2024

Burn permits allow for the disposal of plant material by open burning during limited daytime hours.

Options for obtaining a burn permit include:

  • In person at the Florence office, 85 N. Florence St., Development Services Building, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • In person using a Kisosk at the Mammoth office, 118 Catalina St, Monday and Wednesday 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. closed from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. for lunch (staff will be available to assist you if needed)
  • Online. Customers can apply 24 hours, 7 days a week, however permits are only issued Monday - Friday from 7:00 a.m. 5:30 p.m. and may take up to 24 hours to process. Online Permits can be attained HERE
