Report Dangerous Conditions

Call (319) 286-5747 to report dangerous tree conditions, including City right-of-way trees blocking driveways, any trees blocking streets, hanging limbs above streets or sidewalks, etc.

Submit nonemergency tree debris requests through the My CR platform at com/MyCR. Go to Submit a Request » Trees » Storm Damage and fill out the form. Those unable to access the website may call (319) 286-5747 to report.
Debris Collection Instructions
For Logs and Larger Branches

Stack in the City right-of-way between the street and sidewalk, or within the first 10 feet of the street if there is no sidewalk.

Report the collection location: call (319) 286-5747 or use My CR at CityofCR.com/MyCR. Go to Submit a Request » Trees » Storm Damage and fill out the form.

Deadline to report vegetative/non-organic debris for collection: Noon on Monday, July 22, 2024.

Do not place large or heavy items in your YARDY cart.

Debris will be collected in the SE and SW quadrants the week of July 22.

Debris will be collected in the NE and NW quadrants the week of July 29.

The last day we will collect debris will be on Friday, August 2, 2024.
For Smaller Branches and Plant Debris

Place in your YARDY cart.

Lid must be closed for collection.

Weight limit is 200 pounds. Anything over this limit may cause injury to collection staff or damage to the collection vehicle.

Suitable for branches/twigs (less than 5 inches in diameter), leaves, grass clippings, and food compost.

Have your YARDY cart at your normal collection area by 7 a.m. on your regular collection day.
We cannot enter private property to collect tree debris. This includes locations such as private drives associated with homeowners' associations. This is not a 2020 Derecho debris collection program; assistance is for debris from recent storms only.

Non-organic debris (siding, shingles, fence pieces, etc.) will not be collected curbside. To schedule bulky item collection, contact the Cedar Rapids Solid Waste & Recycling division at (319) 286-5897.

Residential tree debris and yard waste loads can be taken to the Cedar Rapids/Linn County Solid Waste Agency's compost/yard waste location, 2250 A Street SW, Cedar Rapids.
