WASHINGTON-The Office of U.S. Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) today released a report detailing the policy and constituent service accomplishments of Romney's Senate term. Major legislative highlights include enactment of the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, securing a passport agency for Salt Lake City, establishing the Wildfire Mitigation and Management Commission, prohibiting the sale of e-cigarettes to anyone under the age of 21, and enacting measures to counter China. The Romney team also assisted with more than 10,000 constituent casework claims, responded to nearly 1 million pieces of constituent mail, and met with thousands of Utahns.

The Legislative Accomplishments Report and message from Senator Romney can be found below:

"In just one month, I will reach the end of my Senate term-time has flown by. Over the last six years, we have faced many challenges. Yet, we've been able to accomplish important things for the Beehive State and our country. I'm also grateful for the tireless efforts of my team to improve the lives of Utahns.

"Throughout my term, I was fortunate to meet with thousands of individuals and local businesses who helped me learn about important opportunities, as well as challenges, facing Utah's communities. I have deeply valued all of the input you shared with me, which in turn helped me fight for your priorities in the Senate. That partnership has led to expansion and improvement of our state's infrastructure, increased access to rural broadband, enhanced resources for wildfire prevention, efforts to save the Great Salt Lake, investments in Hill Air Force Base-and much more.

"I'm proud of the work my team and I have done to stand up for Utahns-pushing back against federal overreach on issues impacting our rural counties, fighting for more access and greater local input in public land matters, and safeguarding Utah's role in our national security. My casework team has assisted with more than 10,000 casework claims, helping Utahns navigate the federal bureaucracy for things such as passport services, veterans' benefits, and Medicare assistance. And excitingly, after years of hard work from my team, the State Department announced it will be opening a passport agency in Salt Lake City!

"My time in the Senate has been marked by divided government, and while it has provided challenges, it has also presented an opportunity for both parties to find common ground in tackling some of the biggest issues facing our country-breaking U.S. dependence on China for microchips and critical minerals, emergency COVID relief, reforms to the Electoral Count Act, bipartisan gun safety legislation, and securing religious liberty protections in the Respect for Marriage Act.

"We still face big issues. The rise in authoritarianism around the world, our growing national debt, and the threats posed by AI will demand that elected officials come together, in a bipartisan manner, to find effective strategies and solutions to these great challenges.

"It has been a profound honor to serve Utah and the nation, and I thank you for giving me the opportunity to do so. I have great confidence that Utah will continue to grow and thrive, just as it has done for more than 128 years."
