Study tour for Somalian statisticians in Egypt

On 18 and 19 September, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) in Egypt hosted a delegation from the Somali National Bureau of Statistics (SNBS), with the support of ESCWA, to exchange expertise and benefit from Egypt's experience in this field.

Discussions focused on the methodologies and modern techniques for designing, collecting, and updating electronic population censuses.

The delegation also explored the digital mapping methods used for the 2017 census and examined the technological infrastructure of the data centre responsible for processing census-related mapping and the general enumeration.
