Caltrans partnership with Butte County Office of Education Back 2 Work Program helps marginalized Californians overcome barriers to employment

SACRAMENTO - Since its inception in July 2021, Governor Gavin Newsom's $1.2 billion Clean California initiative has created more than 18,000 jobs, including more than 3,800 positions for individuals who were formerly incarcerated and nearly 2,800 for people experiencing housing insecurity. These dedicated workers have helped California clear more than 2.6 million cubic yards of litter over the past three years, demonstrating the transformative power of Clean California at both the community and individual level.
