Due to Friday's afternoon storm, sandbag sites in the City of Tampa closed slightly earlier than planned. In order to provide residents with ample time to collect sandbags, sandbag sites will open an hour earlier Saturday.

The following three sites will re-open Saturday, August 3, 2024 at 8:00 A.M. and close at 7:00 P.M.:

  • Himes Avenue Complex (4501 South Himes Avenue)
  • Al Barnes Park (2902 North 32nd Street)
  • Al Lopez Park (4810 North Himes Avenue)

Each household can take up to 10 sandbags, with new sandbag filling machines on hand to make the process easier.

Pre-registration is encouraged. Please visit tampa.gov/hurricane to fill out the form and for other hurricane-related resources, like evacuation zones, shelter updates, and more.
