PennDOT Closes Route 4013 (Hollow Road) in Potter County Due to Flooding

08/09/2024

Clearfield, PA - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that a section of Route 4013 in Potter County is closed due to flooding brought on by heavy rains. As of 11:30 AM on Friday the road is closed between the intersection of Route 6 in Coudersport and the intersection of Route 49 in Allegany Township. This closure is expected to last at least until 4:00 PM Friday dependent upon the amount of continued rainfall.

PennDOT is closely monitoring roadways and the impacts of flooding due to heavy rains with the arrival of Tropical Storm Debby to the region.

PennDOT will issue updates as needed throughout the day. PennDOT also cautions motorists to never drive through flooded roadways, as it takes just two feet of fast-moving water to float a car. Anyone who drives around barriers intended to close a road can face increased penalties if emergency responders are called to rescue motorists who disregard traffic control signs.

Motorists are encouraged to "Know Before They Go" by checking conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.

511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional Twitter alerts.
