Knowl Park House – Build update June 2024

We're in the final stages of the build of our new dementia day care facilities at Knowl Park House in Mirfield.

What's been happening?

Externally the new fascia is in the process of being installed.

Car park

Contractors have been laying out the permeable block paving in the new south car park and have also created a footpath to the car park. In line with our cleaner and greener agenda, the car park includes EV chargers, which have now been installed. The entrance road to the car park is currently being created. Inside the building work has been completed on the acoustic rendered ceilings in some of the rooms.

Electrical works

Work on the final fix mechanical and electrical is progressing well. Final fix refers to all the elements that you see in the finished building and includes items such as sockets, switches, light fittings. As part of this the sanitaryware has now been fitted.

Furniture fittings

The furniture, fixtures and equipment (FFE) and the kitchens are now being fitted and this is where service users can enjoy a nice cuppa and a chat with family and friends. The flooring and vinyl in the wet areas has also been fitted.

Next up…

Contractors will finish the hard landscaping within the new courtyard and start work on the soft landscaping. Work on the new fascias and installation of the soffits will come to an end. Also external lighting will be installed, and the new footpaths will be tarmacked.

New doors and final ceilings will go up inside the building and the brush strokes continue as painting and decorating work carries on.
