This means critical fire weather conditions that could cause wildfires to spread rapidly. A simple spark could cause a major wildfire. Report smoke immediately by calling 9-1-1 and exercise extreme caution.

During this period, we are facing extreme heat risks with temperatures reaching the upper 90s with little alleviation overnight and staying through the week.

During heat waves, the elderly, young children, and people with pre-existing health conditions are at higher risk. If you're 65 or older, ask a friend to check on you twice a day. Check on others in this age group as well. Everyone is encouraged to limit sun exposure from 10 am to 4 pm and stay hydrated.
