Gallaudet's Office of Institutional Advancement (IA) is pleased to share that the University recently surpassed a fundraising record that was held for 33 years. In Fiscal Year (FY) 2024, from October 1, 2023 to September 30, 2024, Gallaudet raised $14.4 million in new gifts and pledges, besting the all-time high fundraising record of $13.2 million set in 1991 when the W. K. Kellogg Foundation made a $12 million gift to build the Kellogg Conference Hotel.

"It is especially impressive that the gifts for FY 2024 came from many different types of donations from many different people and organizations, including a large estate gift from a retired faculty alumna that pushed us over the $14 million mark," said Nicholas Kiego, '09, executive director of Institutional Advancement . "Fundraising is a team effort that requires collaboration between Institutional Advancement staff and many people on campus. Thank you to everyone who helped us achieve this goal."

Gifts received include those from:

  • HumanitiesDC, which awarded a grant to the National Deaf Life Museum to produce a two-year exhibition led by Indigenous deaf curators. The We, Native Deaf People, Are Still Here! exhibition is now open in Chapel Hall, where it will remain until 2026.
  • NEO Philanthropy, which supports the Center for Democracy in Deaf America's efforts to increase student voting on campus.
  • Capital Area Food Bank, which supports student interns and software for the Health and Wellness program.

Other gifts supported the Necessity of Now campaign, student scholarships, endowed funds, athletics, the Gallaudet University Alumni Association, class funds, and more.
