The Russian Conversation 'The Nose'

The Russian Conversation Table "The Nose" is an informal gathering for anyone interested in practicing speaking Russian and learning about Russian-speaking cultures.

"The Nose" will meet every other Tuesday from 5-6 p.m. in the World Languages Studio, J.B. Hunt 207, on these dates:

• Sept. 3 and 17

• Oct. 1 and 22

• Nov. 5 and 12

The group takes its name from Nikolay Gogol's story "The Nose" about a gentleman in St. Petersburg who wakes up and realizes that his nose is gone. The nose becomes an independent fully-fleshed character of much higher rank than its owner, and it does not wish to recognize him.

The Russian Program, along with the Russian-Eurasian Student Organization, an RSO, organizers lectures, film screenings, cooking events, trivia games and major holiday celebrations throughout the year.
