NEWS: Sens. Ossoff & Rev. Warnock, Reps. Bishop & Williams Expanding EV Charging Infrastructure Across Georgia through Bipartisan Infrastructure Law

Atlanta, Ga. - U.S. Senators Reverend Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff today announced bipartisan infrastructure law funding to build more electric vehicle chargers across Georgia.

Sens. Ossoff and Rev. Warnock, alongside Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) and Congresswoman Nikema Williams (GA-05), are delivering Federal funding through the bipartisan infrastructure law's Charging and Fueling Infrastructure Discretionary Grant Program to build more EV chargers for Georgia drivers.

Sens. Ossoff and Rev. Warnock and Rep. Bishop are delivering $15 million to the Middle Georgia Regional Commission, which plans to install over 200 publicly available EV chargers across Middle Georgia, including in Milledgeville, Macon, Lizella, Roberta, Warner Robins, Perry, Bonaire, Centerville, Hawkinsville, Kathleen, Perry, Gray, Culloden, Juliette, Forsyth, Byron, Fort Valley, Hawkinsville, Eatonton, Jeffersonville, Allentown, Irwinton, Toomsboro, and Gordon.

Sens. Ossoff and Rev. Warnock and Rep. Williams are delivering $11.8 million to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to install a DC Fast Charging Hub for rental car companies, ride-share drivers, airport shuttles for hotels, employees, the City of Atlanta's growing EV light to heavy-duty fleets, as well as regional and local EV drivers coming to the airport or driving along the nearby major highway systems.

"Expanding charging accessibility options for rental car companies, ride-share drivers, and ATL employees allows us to pursue our sustainability goals while improving air quality in traditionally underserved communities. By engaging in those communities, we aim to promote the widespread adoption of electric vehicles, paving the way for a cleaner and more sustainable future."

Sen. Ossoff continues delivering Federal resources through the bipartisan infrastructure law to strengthen Georgia's infrastructure.

Earlier this year, Sen. Ossoff delivered $6,120,067 through the bipartisan infrastructure law to the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) to fund hundreds of free EV chargers at existing charging sites across the metro area.

In July, Sen. Ossoff delivered $6.2 million through the bipartisan infrastructure law to help revitalize Villanow Street in downtown LaFayette.

In May, Sens. Ossoff and Rev. Warnock delivered funds through the bipartisan infrastructure law to help expedite the cleanup of hazardous materials in Macon, Milledgeville, Warner Robins, Columbus, and Rome.

Also in May, Sens. Ossoff and Rev. Warnock announced that Georgia will receive over $120 million for airport infrastructure upgrades across the state in Fiscal Year 2024 Airport Infrastructure Grant (AIG) program funding, authorized by the bipartisan infrastructure law.
