TRAFFIC ALERT New Castle County Ramp Closures for the Expansion of NB I 295
The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) advises motorists that there will be several long-term ramp closures due to the construction starting in northbound I-295. The ramp closures are necessary for construction of a roundabout on Airport Road and the additional lane on northbound I-295.
Exit 5A, northbound I-95 onto Airport Road will be closed for 60 days, and Exit 2, southbound Rt 141 onto northbound I-295 will be closed for 180 days. Both closures will start on Wednesday, August 14th.
Additionally, the ramp from northbound I-295 onto northbound Rt 13 will be closed for 270 days starting Thursday, August 15th. All three ramp closures will be in effect 24/7.

Exit 5A Airport Road Closed
Motorists wanting to travel onto southbound SR 141 from northbound I-95 via Airport Road will take the ramp to northbound SR 141, take the ramp onto southbound I-95, take ramp onto southbound SR 141 arriving at southbound SR 141.
Exit 2 (Ramp from southbound SR 141 to northbound I-295) Closed
Motorists wanting to travel onto Airport Road from southbound SR 141 will turn right onto Commons Boulevard arriving at Airport Road.
Motorists wanting to travel onto northbound I-295 from southbound SR 141 will take ramp onto northbound US 13, take ramp onto northbound I-295 arriving at northbound I-295.
Ramp from northbound I-295 to northbound US 13 Closed
Motorists wanting to travel onto northbound US 13 from northbound I-295 will continue along northbound I-295, take the ramp onto northbound SR 9, take the ramp onto southbound I-295, take the ramp onto northbound US 13 arriving at northbound US 13.
