Apply for Toledo Commission Openings

The City of Toledo is announcing an open application for seats on three city commissions. Interested applicants must submit their applications online by July 29 at 4 p.m.

Appointees will be expected to attend at least one quarterly meeting, the dates and times of which will be determined by each committee.

Toledo Civilian Police Review Board

The Toledo Civilian Police Review Board's purpose is to provide residents with a fair and impartial appeal process for complaints of police misconduct or dissatisfaction with the findings of Police Internal Investigations and to advise the Chief of Police on various issues, such as policies and procedures.

The mayor will appoint 13 members to the board:

one member from each of the six council districts (1-year term, maximum 3 terms)

one member from the N.A.A.C.P. and at least one representative of the Hispanic community (2-year term, maximum 2 terms)

one practicing attorney and one individual with a background in human relations (2-year term, maximum 2 terms)

three members with backgrounds in law enforcement who are not active members of TPD (2-year term, maximum 2 terms)

Charter Review Commission

The Charter Review Commission reviews the city charter in detail and recommends appropriate changes.

The mayor will appoint 15 electors, who will be confirmed by Toledo City Council. Five members will serve 1-year terms, five will serve 2-year terms, and five will serve 3-year terms.

Toledo Sister Cities International Board of Trustees

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, residents of Toledo, and possess a strong desire to further the city's ties with current and potential sister cities.
