A Blockbuster Night

When the sun went down, AU turned up the fun, hosting a free screening of Disney and Pixar's Inside Out 2 for about 300 neighbors and community members on September 20.

Hosted by AU's Office of Community and Government Relations, the event in Woods-Brown Amphitheater featured popcorn, snacks, and a flick about emotions-but community was the star of the show.

"Neighborhood movie night is such a fun tradition at AU. We love welcoming the community onto campus, creating an opportunity for the university and neighbors to share a fun, family-friendly movie under the stars," said Laura Marks, assistant vice president for community and government relations. "It's a way for AU to give back and show our appreciation for the community."

Working with Washington is a key part of the university's mission, as detailed in AU's strategic plan, Changemakers for a Changing World. To that end, community and government relations regularly offers programming to engage neighbors, including moonlight tours of AU Arboretum and Gardens and athletic clinics for area children.
