Investigation Update: Four Firearms Recovered Following a Search Warrant on Adams Street

Investigation Update: At about 6:34 PM, on Saturday, July 13, 2024, detectives assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) executed a search warrant in the area of 86 Adams Street. As a result of the search warrants, detectives recovered four firearms. The firearms were later determined to be a Springfield Armory XP5 with nine rounds in the magazine, a Ruger firearm with ten rounds in the magazine, a Glock firearm with one round in the chamber and seven rounds in the magazine, and a firearm with one round in the chamber and three rounds in the magazine. Detectives will seek additional complaints against all three suspects.

The facts and circumstances surrounding the original incident are as follows: At about 4:00 PM, on Thursday, July 11, 2024, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to the area of 479 Blue Hill Avenue for a report of an armed robbery. Officers were advised that three armed suspects with firearms entered the business and robbed the individuals. The suspects fled the scene prior to officers' arrivals.

Detectives were able to obtain video surveillance from inside the business, and immediately recognized two of the suspects. Detectives also utilized city of Boston cameras and obtained a partial plate of the fleeing vehicle.

One of the victim's stolen watches was being tracked to the area of Adams Street and Lyon Street. Officers requested assistance from District C-11 (Dorchester) who were then able to locate the suspected vehicle in the driveway of 86 Adams Street.

After further investigation, officers were able to determine that the three suspects involved in the armed robbery were inside the apartment building. A perimeter was established outside, and a Code 99 was declared.

After negotiation efforts, one of the suspects was taken into custody. A short time after, a second suspect was taken into custody. A third suspect refused to exit an apartment, and a forced entry was made by SWAT in order to place the suspect into custody.

The involved apartments were secured pending a search warrant.

During the booking process, officers located two plastic bags of a brown rock substance, and five plastic bags of hard rock substance. The bags were believed to be drugs and were packaged in separate plastic bags.
