Buenos Aires, September 10, 2024 - Netflix presents the official trailer for its new Argentine film, The Man Who Loved UFOs, which will premiere globally on Netflix on October 18. The film will participate in the Official Competition at the 72nd San Sebastian Film Festival, which will take place from September 20 to 28, and will be shown in select theaters in Argentina. Starring Leonardo Sbaraglia, the film is inspired by the life of José de Zer, the Argentine journalist from the 80s responsible for creating the most memorable alien phenomenon in the history of Argentine television. Filmed in various locations in Córdoba, San Luis, Mendoza, and Buenos Aires, the production features a distinguished cast including Sergio Prina, Osmar Núñez, Renata Lerman, María Merlino, Agustín Rittano, Norman Briski, as well as special appearances by Daniel Aráoz and Mónica Ayos.

SYNOPSIS

After receiving a tantalizing but questionable invitation, fearless entertainment journalist José de Zer, together with his trusted cameraman Chango, heads out to a small town in the province of Córdoba to report on a mysterious circle that has appeared on some farmland in the hills. What follows is the invention of the most famous alien sightings in the history of Argentine television.
