FREE Behavioral Health Certificate Program!

Behavioral Health in Aging ~ Online Certificate Training Opportunity through the Boston University Center for Aging & Disability Education & Research (CADER).

It's helpful for anyone who interacts with older adults, and social workers and nurses can also receive continuing education credits.

Boston University CADER and Salem for All Ages, City of Salem, are partnering on a project, Strengthening Age-Friendly Communities by Addressing Behaviorial Health Concerns amoung Older Adults. As part of the project, CADER's Behavioral Health in Aging Certificate will be available at no cost to professionals in Salem.

The Details:

  • Online, self-paced, five course certificate program
  • Total time to complete: approximately 19 hours
  • Technical support is available to all learners by contacting CADER
  • The deadline to complete the certificate is March 14, 2025.

CADER will host two live, virtual training sessions to supplement the certificate. We recommend learners attend.

Need continuing education credits? The certificate program is approved for CNE and CME credit hours, and social work continuing education credits.

The Behavioral Health in Aging Certificate consists of five courses:

  • Mental Health & Aging Issues
  • Suicide Prevention among Older Adults
  • Mental Wellness & Resilience among Older Immigrants & Refugees
  • Substance Use among Older Adults
  • Alzheimer's Disease & Other Dementias
