Household Hazardous Waste Collection event coming to West Mobile Sept. 21

Mobile, Ala. - The City of Mobile is hosting another Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event on September 21 at the Greater Gulf State Fairgrounds in West Mobile.

These free events give City of Mobile residents a chance to safely and responsibly discard items that aren't accepted during routine trash and garbage collection services. To better accommodate residents in West Mobile, the Fall 2024 collection event will take place at the Grounds at 1035 Cody Rd., Mobile, Ala., 36608. It will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21.

Some accepted items include automotive fluids, aerosols, batteries, fluorescent tubes, paint, cleaners, pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers. Scrap tires, explosives, firearms, electronics, pharmaceuticals, medical waste, appliances and equipment WILL NOT be accepted. The event is open to City of Mobile residents and individuals only. Contractors and businesses will not be allowed to drop off items. Prior registration is required to participate, as it helps manage the flow of traffic.
