Walter Hipólito Solís Valarezo is free and has the right to remain as a resident of Mexico

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports that, in coordination with the Attorney General's Office, Walter Hipólito Solís Valarezo remains free and maintains his refugee status, which was granted in accordance with the procedure established in the Law on Refugees, Complementary Protection, and Political Asylum. This gives him the right to receive protection and to remain as a resident in our country.

The Foreign Ministry reiterates that Mr. Solís Valarezo is also protected by the principle of non-refoulement, as established in the Convention relating to the Status of Refugees, of which Mexico is a party.

Throughout this process, officials from the Ministry's Legal Office have accompanied Mr. Solís Valarezo to ensure his safety and the legal protection to which he is entitled.
