Councilman Lamont Cole Resigns

Due to the resignation of Councilman Lamont Cole (Metropolitan Council District 7), the Council Administrator's Office is accepting applications from individuals who are registered voters and residents of Metropolitan Council District 7. You may reference the map in the previous link or use the City-Parish Council District Look up tool here to ensure you reside in the district: Council District Lookup.

Any interested person who meets the qualifications will be considered for appointment to the seat for the remainder of this term, which ends on December 31, 2024. To apply, please submit a letter of interest including your full legal name, your address, a contact phone number, email address, and a statement that you are a resident and registered voter in Metropolitan Council District 7. You may also submit a resume if you choose. The Metropolitan Council will hold a special meeting to consider appointing a person to fill the vacancy on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at 2:30 pm in the Metropolitan Council Chambers, located in the City Hall Building (222 St. Louis Street, Third Floor, Baton Rouge, La).

The deadline to submit an application is Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at 12:00 pm.
