Interested in Running for Local Office

The next scheduled general municipal election will be held November 5, 2024, to fill three positions - Mayor, City Councilmember - District 1, and City Councilmember - District 3. The nomination period for the 2024 election will be open Monday, July 15, and close on Friday, August 9, 2024. If an incumbent for either of these offices does not file during this period, the nomination period for that position extends until August 14, 2024. Anyone who is 18 years of age and older, who is also a resident and registered voter in Dublin, or relevant District, may run for a seat on the City Council. The City Clerk's Office will be taking in-person appointments during this period, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (with the last appointment starting at 4:30 p.m.), to process nomination papers for those seeking elective office. It is preferred that an appointment be made with at least 24-hours' notice.

The Mayoral position is a two-year term, while the two open City Councilmember positions are four-year terms.
