Homicide on Ethan Way

At approximately 10:15 PM on Monday, July 22, 2024, Sacramento County Sheriff's North Patrol Deputies responded to an apartment complex on the 1900 block of Ethan Way to the report of a shooting. Deputies arrived on scene and discovered a 15-year-old male suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the chest. They also found there was a second victim, an adult male, who was shot in the arm. Deputies administered first-aid to the victims until Fire Department personnel arrived when they were both subsequently transported to the hospital. Unfortunately, the 15-year-old victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Sheriff's Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene, began their investigation, interviewed witnesses, and began to gather evidence. The investigation is still underway, and Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding the shooting to contact the Sheriff's Office at (916) 874-5115 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-HELP (4357).
