EU DELEGATION SENDS-OFF 63 ERASMUS+ FILIPINO SCHOLARS
The EU's mobility and scholarship programme, Erasmus+, is structured to allow students to study in several EU member states, giving them the opportunity to benefit from the academic excellence and culture of more than one university.
EU Ambassador to the Philippines, H. E. Luc Véron, said that the Philippines repeatedly ranked as one of the countries with the highest number of Erasmus+ scholars in the region, during the send-off held on August 14, 2024 in Makati City.
This year's send-off ceremonies were organised by the Delegation in collaboration with Campus Erasmus.
Campus Erasmus is comprised of Erasmus+ alumni from the Philippines.
Ambassador Véron congratulated the Erasmus+ students and urged them to become ambassadors of goodwill to help strengthen the partnership between the EU and the Philippines, especially in the light of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations celebrated this year.
He also encouraged the Erasmus+ scholars to give back to their country after they would finish their programme in the EU.
The Erasmus+ programme gives a life-changing opportunity for Filipino students to study in the best higher education institutions in the EU and other partner countries, experience the European culture, learn European languages and be integrated into the European society for one to two years. Erasmus+ is among the leading international academic mobility programmes in the world. Besides promoting student mobility, Erasmus+ also supports partnerships between European and Philippine higher education institutions.
