The Inauguration of Indonesian President Subianto

The United States congratulates Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on his inauguration. His election is a testament to the shared values of democracy and rule of law that bind the United States and Indonesia, two of the world's largest democracies.

We look forward to building on this strong foundation with President Subianto, his government, civil society, and the Indonesian people as we celebrate 75 years of partnership between our two nations this year. Our mutual commitment to human rights, diversity, and prosperity is crucial to preserve a free and open Indo-Pacific region and world. We look forward to deepening our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and to furthering the opportunities it has created for our peoples.
