Next Frontier Program update

The Next Frontier Program has shared their program priorities for the 2024-2025 academic year on their website.

The Next Frontier Program is intended to accelerate the university's ability to identify and implement best practices and to recognize substantive progress toward its "Next Frontier" - a healthy data ecosystem. Among other things, this may include an active role in planning and prioritizing technology-related projects through an information technology planning committee, sharpening organizational awareness around data roles and policies, and supporting the documentation of data source and use needs across campus.

The Next Frontier Program is guided by a cross-divisional committee and led by the Next Frontier Director, Biff Jones, who will facilitate greater collaboration among campuswide stakeholders, working toward a future of more timely, accurate, accessible and readily visualizable data and analytics for the campus community. The Next Frontier Program Director position lives outside of the existing data/analytical units by design and is expected to coordinate across these units - including Institutional Effectiveness, Business Intelligence and Reporting Services, Office of Continuous Improvement, Research Administration Systems and Analytics, and others - as well as across the university.

Those with questions about the Next Frontier Program, or how it relates to others within the campus community, can refer to the program objectives and Frequently Asked Questions. Additional questions can be sent to [email protected].
