Memorial Day Ceremony

The City of Elgin is proud to support the Elgin Patriotic Memorial Association in two of their Memorial Day events, both taking place on Monday, May 27th, 2024. At Veteran's Memorial Park (270 N Grove Ave, Elgin, IL 60120, just north of Gail Borden Public Library), the 9:30 a.m. program pays special tribute to veterans interred at sea. The Bluff City Cemetery (945 Bluff City Blvd, Elgin, IL 60120) Memorial Day program takes place at Bluff City Cemetery at 11 a.m. , and includes several keynote speakers, musical tributes, the laying of wreaths, and a rifle salute. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair as seating is limited.

9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

The 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony will take place at 9:00a.m. on Wednesday, September 11th, 2024, at the Hemmens Cultural Center (45 Symphony Way, Elgin, IL, 60120).

Veterans Day Ceremony

The City of Elgin, in partnership with American Legion Post 57, will honor our nation's veterans during the annual Veterans Day Ceremony, scheduled to take place at 11:00a.m. on Monday, November 11th, 2024 in the Heritage Ballroom at the Edward Schock Centre of Elgin, located at 100 Symphony Way in Elgin. All are invited to honor those who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Seating will be provided. Parking is available in the Centre Parking deck located at the southwest corner of Symphony and Grove.
