Rep. Denson Announces $617,953 for Crucial Community-based Substance Use Disorder Treatment Facility

COLUMBUS - State Rep. Sedrick Denson (D-Cincinnati) today announced that the Controlling Board approved Monday funding to support the purchase of The Crossroads Center's new location at 14 Reading Road. The Crossroads Center is a crucial community-based substance use disorder treatment facility that has been serving the community for decades.

"This investment is about more than just a new building; it represents a commitment to the well-being and recovery of our community members," said Rep. Denson. "By supporting the Crossroads Center, we are ensuring that vital services remain accessible, especially for women and mothers, so that everyone can find the help and resources they need to thrive."

With its purchase by University of Cincinnati (UC) Health, the center is set to continue its vital services, particularly focusing on female clients, including expectant mothers. The relocation is necessary to ensure the continuation and expansion of these essential services, which include outpatient services, residential treatment, withdrawal management, prevention services, and medication-assisted treatment.

The new facility will feature three floors tailored to meet specific client needs: the first floor will provide outpatient and medication-assisted treatment programs; the second floor will offer inpatient treatment and withdrawal management with ten residential beds for intensive care; and the third floor will be dedicated to a women's and maternal substance use disorder program, featuring sixteen residential beds and specialized services for pregnant and postpartum women. Additionally, the location is conveniently situated within walking distance of community amenities and is accessible for individuals with physical disabilities.
