The Essential Employee Event on Oct. 22, 2024, recognized the steadfast dedication of Tulane's essential staff, offering an afternoon filled with joy, gratitude and community spirit. The essential employees' tireless work - ensuring smooth campus operations, robust security, engaging student life, efficient technology management, prompt payroll processing, and high standards for biosafety and environmental health standards - keeps our university excelling.

Celebrating on this beautiful fall day with the essential employees were Tulane leaders, Chief Operating Officer Patrick Norton, Provost Robin Forman, Chief Diversity Officer Anneliese Singh and Vice President of Human Resources and Institutional Equity Jonathan Small. They expressed their deep gratitude for the essential employees' role in maintaining campus safety and operations, especially during emergencies. Our essential employees' efforts during hurricanes, power outages and other challenges underscore their dedication to keeping Tulane running smoothly and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.

The afternoon was filled with relaxation and fun, including food and drinks, along with lively games like egg and spoon, three-legged races, cornhole, bocce ball and energetic rounds of UNO. These activities brought smiles and a sense of friendly competition, showcasing the strong bonds within the Tulane community.
