TxDOT and NMDOT hosting public meeting for Farwell/Texico proposed bridge project

LUBBOCK DISTRICT - The Texas and New Mexico Departments of Transportation invite Farwell and Texico residents to attend a public meeting to view updated information on a proposed project to build an overpass at US 60/70/84 and the removal of surface railroad crossings in the cities of Farwell, TX and Texico, NM.

The in-person public meeting includes a presentation and will be held in Texico, from 4:30-6:30 p.m., (MST) on Thursday, Oct. 17, at the Texico Community Center, located at 211 N. Griffin Street, Texico, NM. The public is encouraged to attend, ask questions and provide feedback.

TxDOT and NMDOT staff will be present and provide information, answer questions and take comments on plans for a proposed project to build a bridge structure over the existing BNSF railroad crossing at the Texas/New Mexico state line. The proposed project is expected to improve mobility and access to US 60/70/84 at the railroad crossings located between the two cities.

Citizen may also logon to a virtual meeting consisting of a pre-recorded video presentation. The presentation will be posted online at 4:30 PM (CST) on Thursday, Oct. 17, at www.txdot.gov. Citizens can search for the meeting by entering "Farwell Railroad Bridge" in the key word search engine.
