Our History
AMETEK Process Instruments' origins are unique - formed from several strategic acquisitions to create a world class business.
The company's journey started in 1979 with the acquisition of Thermox Instruments, founding the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania headquarters. This was followed in 1990 by the addition of the moisture and photometric product lines, which established their Newark, Delaware facility. In 1998, the business strengthened its capabilities with the acquisition of Western Research, adding a manufacturing facility in Calgary, Alberta. In 2004, the product portfolio was further enhanced with specialized analyzers for the semiconductor industry with the addition of the Trace Analytical line.
With solutions designed to increase process efficiency, improve safety, and enhance production quality across applications such as combustion control, sulfur recovery optimization, and ultra-high purity gas analysis, this AMETEK business has built a leading reputation for reliability, accuracy, and exceptional technical support.

Meet Alan - Director of Operations at AMETEK Process Instruments.
As the Director of Operations, Alan leads a dedicated team of highly capable and hard-working individuals at Process Instruments' Newark, DE and Pittsburgh, PA manufacturing sites.
With a close eye on safety, he is committed to empowering his team by removing obstacles, solving problems, and creating an environment where everybody works towards delivering customer orders.
Alan has been part of the team for over five years and understands the demands of a dynamic environment, where a new set of challenges are presented every day.
