It is our great honour and pleasure to receive the Zlatna kuna plaque, awarded by the Zagreb Chamber of Commerce, on behalf of Končar D&ST for extraordinary business results and our contribution to the economy of the City of Zagreb in 2023. This award, one of many in a row, confirms that joint dedication, efforts and commitment of all the employees, management and the closest associates of Končar D&ST bring extraordinary results and numerous recognitions. We would like to thank from the bottom of our hearts all those involved in this valuable chain and congratulate them on the success.
In addition, we would like to express our gratitude to the Economic Council of the Zagreb Chamber of Commerce whose nomination and trust made it possible for us to receive this prestigious award.
The year 2023 brought about major changes, including the replacement of the kuna with the euro and Croatia's entry into the Eurozone and the Schengen Area which streamlined and accelerated business processes and minimised business risks. Nevertheless, this year was again marked by challenges such as the consequences of the global COVID-19 pandemic, disruptions in supply chains, growing prices of raw material, material and energy as well as inflation. The war in Ukraine and the conflicts in the Middle East additionally fuelled global uncertainty.
Despite the complexity of the global environment, in 2023, our company made a major step forward, exceeded the planned goals and achieved the best business results so far.
It is especially inspiring to be surrounded by successful and respectable companies which, just like us, perform excellently both on the local and the EU and world markets owing to their competitive products and services. We all successfully overcame similar global challenges that stood in front of us.
